hi ruth…our spending habits here haven’t changed much BUT I know that we need to do some belt tightening….not that we have utang. Apart from our house mortgage, we are living debt-free namin pero still….hindi mo alam what’s around the corner with all this crisis so yes, I could imagine our lifestyle will change a bit.

Even with the crisis, go pa rin ang plans namin to holiday in US next year pero who knows kung matutuloy…fingers crossed!

tin, i think the ones who are going to lose the most in these times are those who have a lot to lose in the first place. for people like us who do not own any stocks at all, we don’t feel much of the impact. i suppose you could look at your current spending situation as a kind of preparation. i think a lot of us would need to tighten belts in the next couple of years.

steph, may krisis man o wala, dapat talaga maging money-wise. regarding the rent, ayon sa mga bulung-bulungan, rents will go down daw, considering din the thousands of properties that will be completed in 2009.

Hindi ka nag-iisa. Tempt na tempt ako mag-plano ng bday parties or vacation abroad kahit weekend get-away lang sana sa Bintan or KL. Pero sabi ni hubby, wag muna gumastos ng gumastos. Maraming uncertainties sa mga panahon na ‘to. Gaya ng rental fee ng flat namin. Matatapos na ang contract namin early next year pero wala kaming idea kung magkano ang increase. My 401k balance has declined to a precipitously low point even after I’ve moved it to 100% bonds. Woody’s is down 13%, but his balance isn’t as high as mine.

As for spending. Well, we’ve been tight since we moved, so no change there. We never spend much since coming to SD.

Scary times.
